Tim DeLaughter: American Gangster
October 22, 2007 at 6:37 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI guess it has been a while since I have used this, oh well. I’m pretty sure Chase is the only person who reads this anyways.
Here is why Saturday ruled so much: Technically it was Saturday when I was enjoying Minus the Bear via iPod with my good friend Jennifer, and that was an amazing start to an awesome day…
I went back up to finish my work as a judge helper at the Blue Springs Forensics tournament. Reuniting with friends, then just leaving again. But the brief time there was very nice. Then it was off to Trevor’s football game.
In case you didn’t know, my brother is a freaking badass. Let us run through his football stats this year: 5 carries, 240 yards, 4 Touchdowns. A. Fantasy. Juggernaut.
Future Hall of Famer^
After Trevor’s game I returned to judge finals of the forensics tournament, said bye to Langston and Schu (my old coaches) and then prepared for the arrival of Team Bro-Debow-Diss-Sike-SeeYa. My mom made cookies because she knew Adam was coming, and she always does that for some reason. Trevor noticed and pointed out “something weird growing from my chin.” Then Tony, Chase, Jordan, and Adam got to my house. It was backyard football time. We teamed up. Trevor was both-team-captains.
Team Bro-Out Diss: Adam, Tony, Me, and Trevor
Team DeBow-Sike-Goo: My Dad, Jordan, Chase, and Trevor’s friend Nick.
The game. was. epic. I think it ended in a tie or something. Like soccer, but with more of my dad falling and hurting his ankle and Jordan knocking over my 8 year old brother to intercept a pass.

My Dad (says the hat) ^
After the football game we left for Lawrence, KS. I hear they think their football team is pretty good this year. We got to the Grenada just in time to hear some of the opening band. I forget their name, but they were good. Next up, was Rooney. They were… there.
And finally… the Polyphonic Spree. It was epic. So good. If you want a nice, extensive review read Chase or Adam’s blog about it. Let’s just say, I saw Risman dance more than I ever thought I would. I saw Tony dance more than I ever thought I should. I saw Jordan dance better than I ever thought he could. I saw Chase dance… I think.
And I was rocking out as well. It was the best show I have seen on that small of a stage is quite some time. I counted 23 people total in the band that night. Wow.

Here is a shot of the Spree via Chase’s Phone
Basically it was an awesome show, and now I am too lazy to keep blogging about it. Let’s see what is in the news…
Puzzlingly, young adults in Japan seem particularly drawn toward mayonnaise, and thus Koji Nakamura might have a shot at success with his Mayonnaise Kitchen restaurant in a Tokyo suburb, according to an August Reuters story. Included in his fare are several mayonnaise-flavored cocktails, including the “Mayogarita.” Hmm… I bet it ages like a fine wine.
A 19-year-old man was arrested in Darwin, Australia, in August after he shoplifted a pornographic magazine and retreated to a public restroom in the Karama Shopping Centre. A security guard trailed him, joined by a police officer, but they decided to wait until he was finished before apprehending him. That was very, very polite of them. I guess they would have needed an extra handcuff otherwise.
Picture of the Day:

Cyclops Kitten. So creepy.
